The cooking system features Flav-R-Cast cast iron cooking grids to sear the perfect steak, plus they can also be angled to channel excess cooking juices away helping to avoid any flare ups, which are backed up with stainless steel Flav-R-Wave heat diffusers which will vaporise cooking juices to add great flavour infusing the food being cooked above them.Twice the amount of heat output per burner is given by the powerful side ported stainless steel dual flame tube burners which sit below the Flav-R-Cast cast iron cooking grids and stainless steel Flav-R-Wave heat diffusers.

The Flav-R-Cast Iron Cooking Grids have been designed for greater efficiency with superior heat retention created by their tight spacing and shaping giving fantastic searing power to seal in juices for maximum taste. They feature two easily reversable sides with one pointed side concentrating heat creating perfect sear marks on a steak with the flip side grooved for non stop basting, plus include the ability to angle the cooking grids to channel excess cooking juices to the grease tray to minimise the likelihood of flare ups.

Robustly manufactured with great attention to detail in Broil King's own North American factories the Broil King Crown 490 Gas BBQ will give both power and performance as it features a 2,968 sq. cm primary cooking surface and includes 4 stainless steel tube burners, a cast aluminum cookbox, reversible heavy-duty cast iron cooking grids, a stainless steel Flav-R-Wave cooking system, plus an electronic ignition all combined with black powder coat drop down side shelves, and an enclosed cabinet base with two cabinet doors.

The power and performance of the Broil King Crown 490 Gas BBQ's 11.4kW Main Burner are then further enhanced with the addition of a 2.7 kW Side Burner and a 4.4 kW Rear Rotisserie with the inclusion of a Rotisserie Kit.
