Comparison of Weber Q Barbecues
Comparison of Weber Q Barbecues |
Date Created: 21/7/14 |
Like the best things in life, barbeques come in all shapes and sizes. But, when you think about gas-powered barbeques, portability and ease of use is not something that springs to mind, for it is charcoal-powered barbeques that win all of the accolades for ease of use and portability.
|
 |
But, it's important to remember that gas-powered barbeques are more versatile than charcoal-powered barbeques, due to a more advanced level of temperature control which means greater cooking depth.
Most people probably think of gas-powered barbeques as permanent fixtures in the garden. However, the latest range of gas-powered barbeques from Weber are anything but permanent fixtures - the Weber Q Barbeque range is portable, versatile, and built to the highest quality.
Let's take a look at the latest innovations from Weber in the name of the Q Barbeque range.
|
Weber Q1200 / Weber Baby Q
The Weber Q1200 is an entry-level gas-powered portable barbeque that's perfect for use as a secondary barbeque or travel barbeque. The barbeque itself is light-weight and easy to carry whilst the Weber 445g disposable gas canister it uses means it is easy to transport.
This barbeque can also have a permanent place in your garden, as an adapter kit can be purchased for it to support 5kg patio gas.
Although it is built for portability the Q120 can easily feed six people. The 445g disposable gas it uses lasts for up to five hours and the barbeque has a deep lid. This results in excellent air flow and well-cooked, tasty food that's sure to please even the most challenging appetites.
Overall: With built-in carry handles, this barbeque is perfect for weekend getaways and holidays.

Weber Q2200
The Weber Q2200 is a mid-range gas-powered portable barbeque that's designed to be easy to transport yet more than powerful and versatile enough to be the main barbeque back at home thanks to a permanent Q cart. It uses 5kg patio gas and can feed up to eight people.
Unlike the Q1200 which is designed to be easy to bundle into the back of a car, the Q220 is going to be more of a challenge - it's less portable and therefore more suited to larger groups of people. However, it is an extremely powerful barbeque that can be connected to a caravan gas supply using the Weber caravan adapter kit. There's also a collapsible rolling cart available.
Overall: This barbeque is perfect for home-use with the added benefit of portability for the holidays.

Weber Q3200 / Weber Family Q
The Weber Q3200 is Weber's range-topping gas-powered portable barbeque. However, let's get something clear - this BBQ weighs close to 40kg, and so it's not the kind of barbeque you can bundle into the back of a car for a road trip.
It is, however, perfect for home use and for transport between homes, so neighbours can happily use it.
It is also far more portable than a traditional gas-powered BBQ, so if you don't want the hassle of moving around something that weighs a tonne, this is a good compromise.
The Q3200 uses 13.5kg patio gas or 10kg BP gas light and can feed up to 12 people. Unlike the Q220, this is a fully featured BBQ, with large cast iron cooking grates with an enamel coating that come in two parts and an additional stainless steel burner for maximum heat output.
Overall: This is not the best barbeque for portability, but it is for cooking versatility and power.
