A Napoleon Premium Round Charcoal Starter will help have lumpwood charcoal or briquettes hot and ready to cook on in minutes.
The Napoleon Premium Round Charcoal Starter uses a chimney effect that concentrates the heat from the starting fuel to light the charcoal. It has been constructed from aluminized steel and fitted with a cool-touch handle (though insulated bbq gloves are recommended when hot) and is sized to hold enough charcoal to fill most charcoal kettle BBQs.
To get the best from the Napoleon Premium Round Charcoal Starter simply fill it's underside with loosely crumpled newspaper, empty paper or a cardboard egg carton, or paper towel and fill the main chamber with as much charcoal as needed for the cook - a few large chunks of hardwood lump charcoal for smoking, up to a full load of briquettes for some high-heat searing.
Once it has been filled carefully light the paper through the bottom vents of the starter allowing the paper to burn off, igniting the bottom coals with it. The heat from the bottom coals then rises igniting the rest so when the coals have ashed over, use heat-resistant gloves to lift the Chimney Starter by the handle and pour the lit charcoal out of the Napoleon Premium Round Charcoal Starter into the BBQ fot a more rapid start up and more efficinet use of fuel.
