How many times have you rushed into your local supermarket on a hot summer days to buy a portable charcoal barbeque? If your answer is more than once, then you would definitely benefit from a proper portable barbeque - one that does not come in a foil tray wrapped in shrink wrap.
Perhaps you live in a house with a small garden or you can't justify spending a lot of money on a large barbeque that is only going to get used once or twice a year. Whatever the case, portable barbeques are an extremely useful cooking tool that can be used throughout the year and practically anywhere.
Weber's range of portable barbeques are among the best money can buy. They're made from the highest quality materials and meticulously designed for ease of use. Let's take a look at the latest innovations from Weber in the portable barbeque market.

Weber Smokey Joe
The Weber Smokey Joe is available in two versions - Smokey Joe Original and Smokey Joe Premium.
The Smokey Joe Original comes with a porcelain-enamelled bowl and lid, aluminium damper, glass-reinforced nylon lid-handle, 147 sq inch cooking area, and 14.5-inch depth.
The Smokey Joe Premium has a slightly larger depth, at 16.5-inches, a locking lid, and a holder for the lid for when food does not need to be covered.
The general consensus among barbeque pros is that the Original model is the better choice. It has better ventilation and air circulation compared to the Premium. However, both barbeques are excellent portable barbeques ideal for giving cooked food a smoky flavour.

Weber Jumbo Joe
The Weber Jumbo Joe is a larger version of the Smokey Joe Silver. It's larger in all areas compared to the Smokey range with a 19.75-inch depth. It has two rust-resistant aluminium dampers, a glass-reinforced nylon handle, and a Tuck-N-Carry lid lock / lid holder system. Like the Smokey range the Jumbo has a steel charcoal grate and porcelain-enamelled bowl and lid for durability.
The Jumbo is better for cooks who require a larger cooking area than the Smokey barbeques offer. It has a built-in ash tray and easy to use vents that makes it easy to achieve a lovely smoky flavour to food.
Because this barbeque is larger, it can also sustain higher temperatures. So depending on what you're cooking the Jumbo may be the best portable barbeque for you.

Weber Go-Anywhere
The Weber Go-Anywhere is available in two options - gas or charcoal. Both options have a heat-proof carry handle and a decent sized cooking area. The main difference between the gas and charcoal version other than the fuels that power them is that the gas version has a porcelain-enamelled lid while the charcoal version has a triple-plated cooking grate.
Both versions offer the same versatility. Unlike the Smokey Joe and Jumbo Joe portable barbeques that are traditionally shaped, the Weber Go-Anywhere barbeque is rectangular, which makes it highly portable and perfect for stuffing into the back of a car.
The Go-Anywhere is more suited to camping and road trips than the Smokey and Jumbo, though the Smokey and Jumbo are more suited for home use... whichever Weber portable barbeque you choose, you can rest assured it'll produce delicious well-cooked food that everybody can enjoy.
