About Napoleon Gas Barbecues

Napoleon is a family-run Canadian manufacturer with a growing following in the UK. Its gas barbecue collection covers different requirements and budgets, from grills for smaller households to large Prestige models, built-in heads and outdoor-kitchen components.
Napoleon barbecues are known for combining solid construction with practical cooking technology. Depending on the series, this can include stainless-steel cooking systems, ceramic infrared heat, side burners, rear rotisserie burners and storage beneath the grill. Features vary, so compare the specification of each model rather than assuming they are included across the whole range.
Why Choose a Gas Barbecue?
Gas barbecues are popular because they are convenient to light and straightforward to control. Turn the appropriate burner dial and use the ignition system as directed, allow the cooking grates to preheat, and the barbecue can be ready to cook without waiting for a bed of charcoal to develop.
Independently controlled burners also make it easier to create hotter and cooler areas. Food can be seared over direct heat, moved to a gentler zone or roasted using an indirect setup beneath the closed hood. Once you become familiar with the controls, the same burner settings provide a useful starting point for repeatable results.
Infrared Sizzle Zone Cooking
Selected Napoleon gas grills include an infrared Sizzle Zone. Its ceramic burner contains many small ports and reaches an intense heat designed for quickly searing steaks and other cuts of meat. The fast sear develops a browned exterior while helping the food retain moisture.
Sizzle Zones are not fitted to every Napoleon barbecue, particularly some compact and portable models. If high-temperature searing is important to you, check whether the individual model has an integrated side or internal infrared burner and compare the size of that cooking area.
Side Burners and Rotisserie Cooking
A side burner can be used for sauces, pans and accompaniments without returning to the kitchen. Selected models also include a rear burner intended for rotisserie cooking. Check whether the rotisserie kit is supplied or sold separately and confirm its capacity before use.
Cooking with a Charcoal Tray
Compatible Napoleon gas barbecues can use an optional charcoal tray in place of the normal sear plates. A gas burner beneath the tray helps light the charcoal before cooking. This offers an alternative charcoal experience without requiring a second barbecue, but the tray is model-specific and should only be used where Napoleon approves it.
Stainless-Steel Construction
Stainless steel is used throughout many Napoleon gas barbecues because it provides a clean, modern finish and good resistance to corrosion. It is also practical around cooking and preparation areas when cleaned and maintained according to the instructions.
Materials and finishes differ between ranges, and even stainless-steel barbecues benefit from regular cleaning and protection from prolonged exposure to dirt and moisture. Check the construction of the hood, cabinet, burners and cooking grids on the particular grill you are considering.
Built-In Napoleon Barbecues and Outdoor Kitchens
Napoleon built-in barbecue heads can form the centre of a permanent outdoor kitchen. They can be combined with suitable worktops, doors, drawers, storage cabinets and refrigeration to create space for preparing, cooking and serving food outside.
Built-in models are available in different sizes and fuel configurations. Plan ventilation, clearances, utilities and access for maintenance before construction begins, and have fixed gas and electrical services installed by appropriately qualified professionals.
Compact and Portable Napoleon Grills
At the other end of the range, compact Napoleon gas grills suit patios where space is limited and cooks who want equipment that is easier to store or transport. Compare the carrying weight, packed dimensions, stand or cart options and approved fuel supply as well as the size of the cooking grate.
Portable does not mean suitable for enclosed spaces. Gas barbecues must be used outdoors with the clearances and ventilation stated by the manufacturer, and should be completely cool before they are moved or stored.
Covers, Accessories and Replacement Parts
A correctly fitted cover helps protect a barbecue from rain, sunlight and wind-blown dirt while it is not in use. Let the grill cool, clean away food deposits and make sure it is dry before covering so that moisture is not trapped against its surfaces.
Other Napoleon accessories include cooking utensils, rotisserie equipment, smoker boxes, grids, griddles and model-specific replacement parts. Use the complete model and serial details when checking compatibility, particularly for fitted parts, gas components and accessories used close to the burners.
Choosing the Right Napoleon Gas Grill
Compare the primary cooking area, number and arrangement of burners, hood height, shelves and storage as well as headline features. Consider how many people you normally cook for, whether you want to roast indirectly or use a rotisserie, and whether the barbecue will run on bottled LPG or an approved natural-gas installation.
BBQWorld stocks Napoleon gas barbecues alongside compatible accessories and replacement parts. If you are unsure which model or accessory suits your requirements, contact the team before ordering so compatibility and installation needs can be checked.
